My name is David Keener. I'm a web architect, consultant and writer based in the Northern Virginia area of the United States. Conveniently, this places me in the heart of the high-tech Internet corridor for the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

With over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, I'm a seasoned leader, an experienced problem solver and a versatile technologist who can play a strategic role in projects of any size.
I am a professionally published writer, with articles on subjects as diverse as Rails, Java, databases, Internet business strategies and ecommerce. Check out some of my online articles:
I'm a frequent technical speaker at conferences (such as Scotland on Rails, SunnyConf and RubyNation) and user groups. Most of my presentations are available for viewing online.
I've co-founded two annual technical conferences, RubyNation and DevIgnition, both of which have been profitable and successful. RubyNation, now in its 4th year, is focused on the Ruby and Rails technical arena and regularly draws attendees from more than 15 states. DevIgnition, now in its 2nd year, is an emerging technologies conferences covering diverse topics like Java, JRuby, Clojure, JavaScript, mobile development and agile strategies.
Since 2000, I have made it a policy to volunteer my time, effort and technical expertise to assist a variety of non-profit organizations and events. Check out my Volunteer Work.
