We’re now on version 4 of the KeenerTech web site, which has been up in one form or another since 2002. In the previous version, blog entries were divided up between Articles and News, with the news-oriented entries typically much shorter. All of the “News” entries have been ported into this version of the website.
Next up, the “Articles,” starting from newest to oldest. Then some of the other features of the web site will return.
Interestingly enough, the site technologies have changed over the years. The first version was straight HTML, the second was ASP.net, the third was Ruby on Rails, and this latest version is WordPress.
- HTML: (2002 – 2005) Mostly about articles, real estate and consulting services.
- .Net: (2006 – 2008) More technical, with more articles, technical news items, etc.
- Rails: (2009 – 2016) Much easier to maintain in Rails; more articles, presentations, conference-related posts, and graphic design work (often with graphic artist extraordinaire Don Anderson).
- WordPress: (2017 – Present) – Simpler maintenance, increased flexibility; started featuring a lot more graphics.
Note: (May 8, 2026) Thanks to a job search, the website, while still remaining in WordPress, got a new and more complex theme. The last one just had too many limitations. I’ve designated this release as Version 4.1.
