I began speaking at technical conferences way back in 2008, partly for branding purposes to solidify my credentials as an “expert” technologist and partly because I truly get energized speaking in front of audiences. I like teaching people things. In 2017, I’d created a presentation that I called Git for Real, which provided a solid introduction, a cheat sheet if you will, for using git.
I mentioned I had such a presentation in a casual conversation at work. My bosses at General Dynamics Mission Systems said, “Why don’t you present it at a Brown Bag Lunch. We’ve got plenty of people who need to learn about git.” So, to my surprise, the first place I ended up presenting it was to my fellow co-workers at GDMS in 2017.
I dusted it off recently. A few things in the git realm have changed since then. I updated the presentation with new content and upgraded the look-and-feel to match my conference presentations. Here’s the updated presentation.
